Charlotte Boin: ‘the night is long’

Emerging artist Charlotte Boin returns with her latest release, "the night is long," merging pop with soulful R&B and a dash of French influence. This track beautifully captures the emotional rollercoaster of social anxiety while maintaining an upbeat, infectious rhythm that makes it just as danceable as it is introspective.

A follow-up to her 2022 debut single "Eyes On U," "the night is long" offers a glimpse into Charlotte’s unique sound. Hailing from southwest France, her music reflects both the vibrant energy and the hidden darkness of her hometown. Drawing inspiration from artists like Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, ROSALÍA, and SZA, Charlotte’s music presents a dynamic exploration of life in your 20s, filled with love, self-doubt, and everything that comes with it.

On “the night is long”, Charlotte addresses the feeling of not fitting in at a party, despite the expectations. She mentions that “It’s about social anxiety and the night feeling so long because you’re pretending to feel good when you’re actually not okay”:

“I’ve experienced that many times – feeling not ‘French enough’, feeling anxious, and wanting to hide it. But there’s a positive message in the song: the night will end, and you’ll get through it. You just have to remind yourself you’re a dope person.”

Self-produced over the span of a year, the track emerged from Charlotte’s own creative journey. She says, “I began creating the beat in early 2023, right after having the night that inspired the song. Working alone gave me the freedom to express myself fully, which was crucial in making this track so personal and authentic.” "the night is long" is now available to buy and stream on all platforms.
